About The Role Transparency Education is seeking an experienced SEND Teacher with sixth-form experience for a specialist school in Croydon supporting students with autism and complex learning needs.

You’ll deliver personalised teaching that develops confidence, communication and practical independence. Experience supporting students through qualifications is essential; knowledge of AQA Unit Awards, ASDAN and entry-level qualifications is desirable.

This role suits a patient, adaptable teacher who recognises individual progress and makes learning relevant to life beyond school.

About The School The school combines a flexible, personalised curriculum with therapeutic support. Staff work closely with families and professionals to meet students’ communication, sensory and learning needs, supporting academic, social and emotional development.

Key responsibilities

• Plan accessible lessons tailored to students’ starting points and EHCP outcomes.
• Support progress towards qualifications and maintain clear assessment evidence.
• Develop communication, functional skills and independence through meaningful activities.
• Adapt teaching to individual sensory, communication and regulation needs.
• Work with support staff, therapists and families to review progress and next steps.

Requirements To be eligible for this role and the stated pay, applicants must have:

• QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Sixth-form teaching experience and experience supporting SEND learners.
• Experience guiding students through qualifications and recording achievement.
• Strong assessment, classroom management and communication skills.
• Appropriate qualifications and training for the role.

Knowledge of AQA Unit Awards, ASDAN or entry-level pathways is desirable. Higher pay rates reflect substantial relevant experience and/or training. Pay follows school expectations and Agency Worker Regulations (AWR), where applicable.
