Senior ABL Underwriter

About The Opportunity

• We are partnering with a growing specialty finance organization seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Underwriter with a strong background in Asset-Based Lending (ABL), Factoring, or Commercial Finance.
• This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned commercial lending professional who enjoys analyzing businesses, evaluating credit risk, and contributing to strategic lending decisions.
• Experience with a non-bank Asset-Based Lender, Factoring company, or Specialty Finance organization is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate prospective financing opportunities in partnership with Business Development and Senior Underwriting teams.
• Analyze financial statements, cash flow, credit risk, and repayment capacity.
• Review accounts receivable, accounts payable, collateral, and borrowing base information.
• Prepare comprehensive credit review packages and underwriting recommendations.
• Participate in due diligence discussions with prospective clients.
• Perform or coordinate collateral Field Examinations as needed.
• Evaluate account debtor credit quality and business operations.
• Partner with Portfolio Management to support ongoing portfolio performance and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of underwriting experience in Asset-Based Lending (ABL), Factoring, Commercial Finance, or Specialty Finance.
• Experience with a non-bank lender or factoring organization is strongly preferred.
• Strong commercial credit analysis and financial statement analysis skills.
• Experience evaluating borrowing bases, accounts receivable, collateral, and commercial credit risk.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred.

Please Note: Priority will be given to candidates with direct experience in Asset-Based Lending (ABL), Factoring, or Specialty Finance, particularly within a non-bank lending environment. Experience focused primarily on commercial real estate (CRE), mortgage lending, consumer lending, or insurance underwriting may not closely align with the requirements of this position.
