You will have either:

Option 1 - Aboriginal Case Manager

  • Certificate IV or higher in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care, Mental Health, Community Services, Case Management or a related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of qualifications, skills and extensive relevant experience.

Option 2 - Social Worker

  • Bachelor of Social Work or Master of Social Work (Qualifying) accredited by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), or an overseas qualification assessed as comparable.

You will also demonstrate:

  • Experience in case management, psychosocial support, community services or care coordination.
  • Strong understanding of Aboriginal social and emotional wellbeing and culturally safe practice.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal people, families and communities.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed, strengths-based and person-centred approaches.
  • Excellent communication, advocacy and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong record keeping, administration and time management skills.

  • Current unrestricted Driver's Licence.
  • Current National Police Check.
  • Current Working With Children Check.
  • Ability to meet PLAHS immunisation requirements.

  • Safe Environments for Children and Young People training (or willingness to obtain).

Why Join GAHS?

  • Competitive salary of $93,290 plus superannuation.
  • Fixed-term role through to 30 June 2027.
  • Meaningful work supporting Aboriginal individuals, families and communities.
  • Supportive multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Opportunities for professional development, supervision and ongoing training.
  • Work within a respected Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation that is making a genuine difference in the community.
