Senior Accountant

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with a strong background in the construction industry to manage and oversee our financial operations in the UAE. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, cost control, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with local regulations. Chinese Nationals or fluent Chinese speakers are highly preferred to facilitate communication with headquarters and Chinese-speaking stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage full-cycle accounting functions including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and reconciliations
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports
• Monitor project costs, cash flow, and budgets to ensure financial control on construction projects
• Oversee VAT compliance, tax filings, and ensure adherence to UAE financial regulations
• Coordinate with project managers to track job costing, profitability, and financial performance
• Liaise with auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities as required
• Prepare and present financial analysis and forecasts to senior management
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely closing of accounts
• Supervise and guide the accounting staff
• Communicate financial matters with Chinese headquarters and Chinese-speaking stakeholders

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, ACCA, or CMA is a plus)
• Minimum 8–10 years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years in the construction industry
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT, corporate tax, and financial regulations
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle) and MS Excel
• Experience in project cost control, job costing, and financial reporting for construction projects
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Fluent in English; Chinese language (Mandarin) is highly preferred
• Chinese National or Chinese Speaker is our first priority
