Senior Accountant

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. Responsibilities

• Manage the preparation, review, and analysis of financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal policies.
• Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures.
• Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and assist in internal audits related to financial reporting.
• Utilize accounting software such as Workday, QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or UltiPro to process transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing, vendor management, and accounts reconciliation using automation tools like Paychex or ADP.
• Support payroll management activities through Kronos or Ceridian systems while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive employee data.
• Perform Excel data analysis using formulas like VLOOKUP and advanced spreadsheet techniques for reporting and decision-making purposes.
• Assist with financial compliance initiatives by maintaining accurate records of debits & credits, journal entries, and audit documentation.
• Collaborate with human resources teams on benefits administration and non-profit accounting projects as needed.
• Contribute to process improvements by automating routine tasks such as accounts payable workflows or data entry procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is preferred.
• Extensive experience in accounting and finance roles, ideally within public accounting or corporate environments.
• Proficiency with multiple financial systems including Workday, QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, UltiPro, ADP, Kronos, Ceridian or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial concepts such as double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, account reconciliation, and general ledger management.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze large datasets using Excel formulas like VLOOKUP and create detailed reports through Excel data analysis techniques.
• Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements and experience supporting internal controls audits.
• Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills for managing multiple priorities effectively.
• Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while maintaining accuracy in all transactions.
