Senior Accountant Opportunities | Waikato

Driven by continued growth, internal promotion, and movement within our team, CooperAitken is looking to appoint experienced accountants across the Waikato region.

While these roles are best suited to Senior Accountants with solid public practice experience, we're interested in more than technical capability. We're looking for people who bring their own strengths, ideas, and approach to building lasting client relationships and supporting those around them.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients across a diverse range of industries and business sectors, including a strong agribusiness client base where CooperAitken is recognised as a trusted specialist adviser.
• Prepare and review financial statements, tax returns, and forecasts, providing proactive tax planning and business advisory services.
• Build and maintain strong, trusted client relationships
• Contribute to the development and success of the wider team

This Role Will Be a Great Fit If You

• Are CA qualified, with experience in a New Zealand public practice environment, and have strong technical accounting and tax knowledge.
• Preferably, you'll be Xero-savvy and comfortable working across cloud-based systems.
• Bring a positive, solutions-focused mindset.
• Enjoy collaborating and sharing knowledge with others, and are looking to make a meaningful contribution beyond day-to-day compliance work.

Locations

We are seeking appointments across our Waikato offices, with opportunities based in:

• Matamata, supporting our strong and established local client base.
• Morrinsville, working with a diverse range of rural and commercial clients.
