Senior Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with proven experience in the hotel or hospitality industry. In this role, you will manage day-to-day accounting operations, oversee general ledger accuracy, perform monthly financial closes, and support operational leadership with budget monitoring. This position is ideal for an experienced accounting practitioner who excels in hands-on ledger management, financial reporting, and operational efficiency without requiring a CPA license.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements in accordance with company policies
• Maintain and reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and supporting schedules; prepare and post routine and complex journal entries
• Review daily revenue reports, night audit summaries, Front Office transactions, and F&B sales to ensure proper revenue recognition and audit compliance
• Assist management in tracking departmental expenditures, monitoring monthly spend against budgets, and analyzing cost variances
• Monitor daily internal control procedures to protect company assets; assemble documentation and coordinate with external auditors during yearly audits
• Proactively identify opportunities to streamline routine accounting processes using accounting software and automation
• Guide junior accounting staff and collaborate closely with Front Office, HR, and Operations teams to ensure financial accuracy

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, with direct experience in a hotel or hospitality environment
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or hotel Property Management Systems)
• Strong MS Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial formulas)
• Solid understanding of general accounting principles, hotel revenue streams, and inventory/cost tracking
• High level of integrity, strong analytical thinking, excellent time management under tight closing deadlines, and good communication skills
