Senior Accountant

About the Role

Rafidah & Co, an established accounting, corporate secretarial, taxation, business consultancy and legal advisory firm under RNC Consulting Group, is looking for an experienced and responsible Senior Accountant to join our growing team.

The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of SME clients, handle full sets of accounts, prepare financial and management reports, review accounting work and ensure all assignments are completed accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full sets of accounts for a portfolio of SME clients.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts and financial reports.
• Handle accounting entries, bank reconciliation, AP/AR and general ledger.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare financial statements and assist with audit requirements.
• Ensure accounting records are accurate and maintained in accordance with relevant standards.
• Liaise with clients, auditors, tax agents and other professional parties.
• Review work prepared by junior accounting staff and provide guidance where required.
• Manage multiple client assignments and ensure deadlines are met.
• Identify accounting issues and provide appropriate solutions.
• Perform other accounting-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in an accounting firm.
• Strong knowledge and experience in handling full set accounts.
• Good understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and client-handling skills.
• Able to work independently, take ownership and manage multiple assignments.
• Experience handling SME clients is an advantage.
• MIA membership or professional qualification such as ACCA/CPA is an advantage.
