Senior Accountant

Overview

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and analyze complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, accounts payable automation, and vendor payments using software such as Paychex, SAP, or similar systems.
• Oversee accounts receivable management, including invoicing, collections, and aging analysis to optimize cash flow.
• Conduct detailed data entry and Excel data analysis utilizing formulas, VLOOKUP functions, and pivot tables to support financial reporting and decision-making.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance through rigorous documentation and audit trails.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities by preparing financial statements, journal entries, and account reconciliations using accounting systems like Workday, PeopleSoft, or Oracle.
• Assist in the implementation of new accounting software or systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, or UltiPro to streamline financial operations.
• Collaborate with internal teams on financial audits, internal controls testing, and process improvements related to corporate accounting practices.
• Handle confidential information with integrity while ensuring all financial data remains secure and compliant with company policies.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting standards combined with practical experience in public accounting or corporate finance environments.
• Proficiency with financial software such as Workday, Kronos, ADP, Ceridian, Sage, or similar platforms; experience with accounting systems like PeopleSoft or UltiPro is a plus.
• Expertise in double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, account reconciliation, and general ledger management.
• Advanced Excel skills including formulas (SUMIFs, VLOOKUP), data analysis tools, and spreadsheet management for financial reporting purposes.
• Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements and internal control procedures.
• Experience handling accounts payable automation tools like Paychex or SAP Concur; knowledge of invoice processing workflows is essential.
• Ability to analyze complex financial data accurately while maintaining attention to detail under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating across departments and preparing clear reports for management review.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $102,588.27 - $148,654.09 per year
