Senior Accountant

We are partnering with a premier professional service firm in Chicago to hire a Senior Corporate Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing, collaborative finance team at a firm known for excellence, innovation, and long-term employee growth. While this role does not initially include direct reports, it is intentionally designed to evolve into a leadership position as the team continues to expand.

Position Overview

The Senior Corporate Accountant will play a key role in managing the firm’s accounting operations, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, and supporting financial reporting and close processes. This individual will partner across finance and business teams, contributing to process improvements and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Lead and support month-end and year-end close processes
• Analyze financial results and prepare detailed account reconciliations
• Assist with technical accounting research and implementation of new accounting standards
• Partner with auditors during external and internal audits
• Support internal controls, compliance, and process optimization initiatives
• Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, tax, and operational teams
• Contribute to special projects and help build scalable accounting processes as the firm grows

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 3+ years of relevant accounting experience (public accounting + industry experience a plus)
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems is a plus
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
