SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

A Senior Accountant manages complex financial records, oversees month-end close processes, ensures regulatory compliance, and provides financial analysis to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, general ledger entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Month-End Close: Lead and streamline the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close cycles to ensure strict deadlines are met.
• Compliance and Tax: Ensure adherence to accounting principles (such as GAAP or local standards) and assist with tax filings or statutory audits.
• Budgeting and Analysis: Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis to identify financial risks and cost-saving opportunities.
• Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and review the work of junior staff accountants and bookkeepers.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (b.com).
• Certifications: Professional certification like a CPA, CA, or equivalent is frequently preferred.
• Experience: Typically 3 to 5+ years of relevant accounting or public accounting experience.
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) and familiarity with enterprise accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, high ethical integrity, attention to detail, and clear communication abilities.
