Duties and Responsibilities

The following are duties and responsibilities of the Sr Accountant:

• Responsible for the day to day management of the AP/Payroll/Cash functions.
• Recording journal entries required to facilitate the month end closing
• Reconcile all bank accounts per specifications by VPO (utilizing NetSuite)
• Document all Journal entries (to be distributed when requested)
• Preparation of workpapers supporting the monthly close process and month end balances
• Review and ensure timely completion of monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained
• For example, making sure that the correct amount of host home expense is recorded to match the accrued revenue for similar period
• Assist the Controller in implementing new fixed asset recording software
• Maintain proper recording of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation
• Facilitate and be responsible for completion of the Cost Reports for each entity
• Assist Controller to file property tax renditions
• Assist Controller with the completion of 1099s annually
• Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time

Other Notes for Month End

• Record all revenues to correct locations (group home and dayhabs)
• All specific revenue accruals should have a matching expense accrual and vice versa
• Revenue amounts should be calculated based on month of service
• Service margins should be representative of actual performance
• Intercompany should zero out each month

Example of Monthly responsibilities:

• Schedule of accrued liabilities/expenses
• Schedule of prepaid expenses
• AR tie out (in conjunction with the revenue accrual)
• Payroll tie out
• Bank recon summary

Education:

• Bachelors or equivalent in accounting. (Minimum of 36 standard accounting hours)
• C.P.A. is preferred but not required

Experience:

• 5+ year experience in the accounting and finance sector.
• 4+ year in a position equivalent to a staff accountant or higher responsibilities

Skills:

• NetSuite experience preferred
• Conscientious about timeliness of assignments and quality of work product
• Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner
• Able to handle multiple tasks and maintain control and order over same
• Good GAAP and financial reporting technical skills
• Exceptional work ethic
• Skills in the operation and functioning of all programs used by the organization, i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel
• Able to analyze, organize, summarize and articulate financial information
• Detailed, organized and communicative
• Responsive team player with ability to quickly prioritize tasks
• Task and goal oriented and capable of functioning in an entrepreneurial and corporate setting
• Able to prioritize and work

Job Type: Full-time
