Senior Accountant

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. Duties

• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal policies.
• Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing procedures.
• Oversee accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and automation initiatives using software like Paychex or SAP.
• Handle accounts receivable management, ensuring timely collections and accurate recording of customer transactions.
• Conduct detailed Excel data analysis utilizing formulas such as VLOOKUP and advanced spreadsheet techniques to support reporting and audit requirements.
• Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and internal audit procedures to safeguard financial integrity.
• Assist with payroll management using systems such as Workday or ADP, including benefits administration and payroll reconciliation.
• Support external audits by preparing documentation, financial reports, and audit schedules related to governmental or non-profit accounting standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including HRIS systems (UltiPro, Kronos) and other financial software like Sage or QuickBooks to optimize workflows.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information while ensuring accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is preferred but not mandatory.
• Extensive experience in accounting or finance roles, ideally within public accounting or corporate environments.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP principles along with experience using accounting software such as PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills including formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP functions, and data analysis techniques.
• Familiarity with financial compliance standards such as SOX regulations and governmental accounting requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliation, journal entries, and general ledger management accurately.
• Experience working with multiple financial systems like Workday, Kronos, ADP, Sage, or QuickBooks for payroll and HRIS functions.
• Excellent analysis skills combined with attention to detail for accurate financial reporting and problem-solving.
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while managing multiple priorities efficiently.

Pay: $89,700.00 - $109,000.00 per year
