POSITION: Senior Accountant

POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Accountant who will be responsible for full-cycle accounting for an assigned portfolio of senior living communities.

This role ensures accurate financial reporting, supports community leadership with timely insights, and maintains the integrity of financial data across month-end, billing, accounts payable, and budgeting processes.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (includes but not limited to):

• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and variance reports.

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, investigate variances, and resolve reconciling items promptly.

• Prepare full month-end close: accruals, reclasses, journal entries, reconciliations.

• Review resident billing, rent rolls, census, and revenue for accuracy.

• Prepare financial schedules and supporting documentation for management, lenders, owners, auditors, and tax professionals.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP, company accounting policies, internal controls, and established approval procedures.

• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, resident billing, and payroll accounting as needed.

• Identify process improvements and help standardize accounting workflows across the organization

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

• Strong GAAP knowledge and monthly close experience.

• 5–10+ years of accounting experience; senior living or property preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.

• Advanced Excel skills and Yardi experience preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Salary Description

$80,000-$90,000
