Senior Accountant

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to work for our client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.

This is a strong opportunity for an accounting professional who takes pride in accuracy and enjoys digging into the numbers, in a hybrid role based in Cleveland, OH.

Responsibilities

• Drive the monthly close by preparing journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Produce GAAP-compliant financial statements and supporting schedules
• Research and resolve account variances, tracing issues back to their source
• Provide data and analysis for budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting
• Prepare audit documentation and respond to auditor requests
• Spot opportunities to simplify close tasks and tighten internal controls
• Work with Operations, Procurement, and other departments to keep financial data accurate
• Review the work of staff accountants and offer feedback and support

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience in a corporate or public accounting setting
• Solid grasp of GAAP and the month-end close cycle
• Experience with ERP/accounting platforms and strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups)
• Analytical thinker with careful attention to detail
• Able to balance recurring deadlines and special projects in a hybrid setting
• CPA or progress toward CPA a plus
