Senior Accountant – Construction & Regional Operations

Location: Sanford, FL | Fully On-Site

Compensation: $85,000–$115,000 Base Salary + Profit Sharing

Steadfast Executive Search has been engaged by a nationally recognized leader in the specialty construction industry to identify a Senior Accountant for its growing Southeast region, based in Sanford, Florida.

With an established national presence and a network of local operating businesses, the organization offers the stability and resources of an industry leader while maintaining the close relationships and collaborative environment of its regional teams.

This newly created position offers an opportunity to join an expanding accounting team, work closely with experienced regional financial leadership, and support financial operations across multiple locations throughout the Southeast.

Key Responsibilities

• Play an integral role in the five-day month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Prepare and review financial reports, balance sheet reconciliations, and related accounting activities.
• Support accounting and financial operations across multiple Southeast operating locations.
• Partner with regional accounting leadership, branch management, and local accounting teams to support financial accuracy and operational needs.
• Investigate accounting discrepancies, identify root causes, and help implement practical solutions.
• Support improvements to accounting processes, reporting procedures, and operational efficiencies.
• Collaborate with accounting teams on training, special projects, and regional initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including meaningful involvement in month-end close and financial reporting.
• Experience in construction, specialty contracting, manufacturing, distribution, healthcare, or other operationally complex and multi-entity environments is welcome.
• Construction accounting experience, particularly job costing, work-in-progress (WIP), or project accounting, is strongly preferred but not required.
• Experience supporting multiple locations, business units, departments, or entities is highly desirable.
• Periodic travel throughout the Southeast region, providing opportunities to collaborate with local accounting teams, share knowledge, support training initiatives, and develop leadership skills through broader operational exposure.
• Advanced Excel proficiency and experience with enterprise accounting systems or construction-focused ERP platforms such as Viewpoint Vista, Viewpoint Spectrum, Sage 300 CRE, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision), or comparable systems.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary of $85,000–$115,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and overall alignment with the position.
