Senior Accountant

Location: Cincinnati, OH (On-Site)

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday

Pay: $85,000-$95,000 per year

Join the Planes Team! Planes Companies is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing Accounting team in Cincinnati. This position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close activities, preparing financial reporting, and helping drive continuous process improvements across the department.

What You'll Do

• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and review journal entries for accuracy.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis initiatives.
• Coordinate with external auditors and assist with annual audit preparation.
• Maintain and improve accounting processes, systems, and internal controls.
• Monitor compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
• Prepare reports and presentations for leadership and management teams.
• Participate in system upgrades, process automation projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy within accounting operations.
• Cross-train with other accounting team members and support departmental growth.
• Take on evolving responsibilities and special projects as needed.

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 4+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Outlook and Word.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

Preferred:

• Experience participating in financial audits.
• Experience with process improvement, automation, or accounting system enhancements.
• Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting activities.
