Senior Accountant

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. In this pivotal role, you will perform complex technical, accounting duties in the preparation, maintenance and review of accounting budgetary and fiscal records, documents, and reports, assuring accuracy and conformance with established procedures. Responsibilities

• Prepares monthly journal entries to include, but not limited to, bailment and surcharges, taxes, merchant processing fees, mixed beverage sales, cost of sales, inventory variances, and prepaid expenses.
• Proficiency in ERP systems, NetSuite preferred.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and ensure compliance with internal controls and external audit requirements.
• Perform accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and distiller payments.
• Ensure accurate recording of debits and credits, accounts receivable activities, and facilitate collections to optimize cash flow.
• Perform account reconciliation tasks for the general ledger, bank statements, and subsidiary ledgers to maintain data integrity.
• Responsible for reconciliation of balance sheet accounts to include, but not limited to, suspense accounts, employee receivable accounts, and prepaid accounts.
• Maintain meticulous records of all financial transactions, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory standards.
• Performs other duties as required by law, the Board, the General Manager, or by rules and regulations of the NC ABC Commission.

Experience

• Proven accounting experience with a minimum of five years working in corporate finance or public accounting environments.
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP standards coupled with practical experience in double-entry bookkeeping and financial compliance procedures.
• Must have an advanced level of proficiency with computers and computer software to include NetSuite and Microsoft Excel, Work, Outlook.
• Must possess excellent organizational skills and pay meticulous attention to details.
• Must be capable of multi-tasking and handling several projects simultaneously.
• Must be able to read and understand Greensboro ABC Guidelines, State, and local guidelines, as well as North Carolina ABC laws/rules and policies at an advanced level.
• Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while maintaining high accuracy in data entry tasks such as 10-key typing and journal entries.
• Excellent organizational skills with a focus on account reconciliation, general ledger management, and journal entry preparation.

Pay: $68,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
