Senior Accountant

About the role

We are a BCorp certified sportswear company seeking an experienced, hands-on Senior Accountant to take ownership of our financial management, accounting activities, and essential HR compliance. In this role, you will ensure financial health, accurate reporting, and strong compliance across the business. Finance at Tsunami Sport isn't just about the numbers - you will look at financial management through a customer care lens, ensuring seamless, professional, and supportive communication with our clients and vendors regarding accounts, billing, and financial inquiries. You will work closely with the leadership team to provide critical financial insights that support commercial decisions. You will be supported directly by an Accounts & Admin Assistant who will assist with routine accounting activities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day finance and accounting activities, managing and mentoring the Accounts & Admin Assistant.
• Manage cash-flow planning, budgets, financial reporting, and working capital.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, payment schedules, bank reconciliations, and financial records.
• Deliver exceptional financial customer care, managing invoicing queries, payment terms, and vendor/client relations with an empathetic and professional approach.
• Manage key HR compliance functions, including payroll, MPF administration, statutory filings, and ensuring alignment with Hong Kong employment ordinances.
• Prepare and review management reports, highlighting financial performance, risks, and matters requiring action.
• Support commercial decisions through cost, margin, and profitability analysis.
• Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, banks, and other relevant service providers.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, with professional accounting designations (such as ACCA, HKICPA, CIMA, or equivalent) highly preferred.
• Proven experience in a Senior Accountant or similar financial management role.
• Experience in garment trading or manufacturing is highly preferred.
• Excellent Excel proficiency with the ability to manage, organize, and analyze complex financial data.
• Hands-on experience with Xero (accounting) and Odoo (ERP) is strongly preferred.
• Customer-centric mindset with strong communication skills for managing client and vendor financial relations.
• Good knowledge of Hong Kong labour laws and payroll compliance.
• Interest or experience in utilizing AI tools and workflow automation to drive efficiency.
