Senior Accountant (Education Group)

Meritton British International School, part of Ambassador Education Group is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Finance team based at Meritton British International School. In this role, you will oversee financial reporting, month-end closing, tax compliance, and accounting operations across multiple entities within our education group.

You will work closely with the Accounting & Finance Manager, CFO, and fellow Senior Accountant, you will help ensure accurate financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and support continuous process improvement across the campuses.

Work Location: Meritton British International School, Chiang Mai, Thailand

Primary Entities: Meritton British International School, British Concordance International School, and Ambassador Bilingual Academy

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage month-end and year-end financial closing
• Prepare and review financial statements and management reports
• Ensure accurate accounting records, reconciliations, and revenue recognition
• Oversee AP, AR, General Ledger, fixed assets, payroll, and intercompany transactions
• Ensure compliance with Thai accounting standards and tax regulations
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and government authorities
• Supervise and support Accounting Officers
• Improve accounting processes and strengthen internal controls
• Support ERP, SAP implementation and finance system improvements

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting
• At least 5 years' experience in accounting, preferably in a senior role
• Strong experience/knowledge in financial closing, financial reporting, Thai tax regulations, TFRS/IFRS, and accounting standards
• Experience supervising or reviewing accounting team
• Strong analytical skills with excellent Excel proficiency
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Good communication skills, English is an advantage
• Experience in an international school or multi-entity organization is an advantage
