The Role

We are seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to own the accounting function for US-based client companies and to lead the team that delivers it, working remotely from the Philippines.

This is a leadership seat first. Where our individual contributor roles own a set of deliverables, this one owns a group of people and the standard they work to. You will run the close through a team rather than around one, review their output before it reaches the client, and be accountable for what they produce as well as what you produce yourself.

The role stays hands-on. You will still prepare the difficult areas yourself, resolve the technical questions the team escalates, and stand behind the financial statements in front of US leadership and auditors. But the multiplier here is your team, and the work rewards someone who builds capability rather than absorbing it.

You will work directly with US business leadership. A significant part of the role is translating accounting information into something people outside finance can act on, and doing so before they ask for it.

What You'll Own

• The team. Lead, review, coach, and develop a team of accountants. Set the standard, hold it, and raise the quality of the work before it reaches the client.
• The close. Run the monthly, quarterly, and annual close through your team, with full accountability for the calendar, the quality of the output, and the cycle time.
• The financial statements. Own the preparation of the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statement under US GAAP, and stand behind those numbers in front of leadership and auditors.
• Review. Own the review layer — journal entries, reconciliations, schedules, and accruals prepared by others land with you before they land with anyone else.
• Technical questions. Resolve the treatments your team escalates, and document the positions behind them.
• Accounting operations. Oversee the general ledger, AP, AR, payroll accounting, and cash reporting, holding each to defined turnaround and accuracy standards.
• Controls and process. Establish and maintain accounting policies, internal controls, approval workflows, and the close checklist and documentation the team runs on.
• Audit. Coordinate the annual audit or review, including PBC preparation and resolution of findings, working alongside external auditors and US tax advisers.
• Capacity and workload. Plan coverage across clients and close cycles, and flag where the team is under-resourced before it shows up in the numbers.

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years directly managing and developing accountants
• Demonstrated ownership of the close and the financial statements on an independent basis, rather than contribution to someone else's
• A genuine review track record — you have been the last set of eyes before work went to a client, a CFO, or an auditor
• Strong command of US GAAP and financial reporting, including revenue recognition
• Experience coordinating an audit or review, including working directly with external auditors
• Experience with multi-entity accounting and consolidation
• Substantial ERP experience with NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, or a comparable platform
• Experience working remotely with US-based leadership and clients, and the communication discipline that arrangement requires
• Excellent written and verbal English, with the confidence to hold the room with senior US stakeholders
• Philippine CPA, CA, CMA, or ACCA strongly preferred
• Big 4 or comparable public accounting experience followed by industry or shared-services experience preferred
• Prior experience in an outsourced accounting practice, a CPA firm, or a shared-services centre is directly relevant
• SaaS or recurring-revenue experience, including deferred revenue mechanics, is an advantage
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

You are technically strong enough to be the final answer on a treatment, and disciplined enough to review someone else's work properly rather than redoing it. You develop the people under you instead of routing the hard tasks around them.

Above all, you identify issues early, communicate them clearly to the people who need to know, and arrive with a practical recommendation rather than only a number.

Work Arrangement

This is a fully remote role based in the Philippines, working the US shift to provide direct overlap with US business hours. You will work directly with US-based leadership, auditors, and external partners.
