Senior Accounts Administrator

Simon Construction is a well-established Canterbury construction company with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality commercial construction projects and architectural new home builds. We are currently looking for a Senior Accounts Administrator to take ownership of the finance function for Simon Construction and related companies, Atamai Structures and SCL Equipment Hire.
This is a hands-on role responsible for the end-to-end financial processing of three related companies, providing support to Directors and external accountants while ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day accounts operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing financial processing for 3 companies using Accredo
• Accounts Receivable including invoicing from job costing, receipting and credit control
• Accounts Payable including invoice processing, job coding, payment runs and retention management
• Cashbook processing and bank reconciliations
• Inventory transactions and month-end stocktake processing
• Month-end reporting to Quantity Surveyors, Directors and external accountants.
• General journals and month-end Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet processing
• Payroll processing using SmoothPay
• PAYE and GST filing and payments

About You

• Proven experience in a senior accounts or finance administration role
• Strong understanding of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and payroll
• Experience preparing and filing GST and PAYE returns
• Confidence managing month-end processes and reconciliations
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
• Able to work independently and manage competing priorities
• Experience with Accredo would be highly advantageous
• Construction, contracting, manufacturing or project-based industry experience is advantageous
