About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accounts Executive to join our Finance team in Kuala Lumpur on a full-time basis. This is a strategic position within our Financial Accounting & Reporting function, where you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial records and reporting processes. Your work will directly contribute to the integrity of our financial information and support informed business decision-making across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial records, journal entries, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment authorisation, and collection activities

• Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing procedures and assist in the preparation of financial statements

• Maintain and update general ledger accounts, ensuring all transactions are correctly classified and recorded

• Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner

• Assist in the preparation of management accounts and financial reports for internal stakeholders

• Support the audit process by preparing documentation and responding to audit queries

• Liaise with internal departments and external parties to resolve accounting issues and clarify transaction details

• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting regulations and internal control procedures

What we're looking for

• Minimum 3 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting roles
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CA, CPA, or equivalent recognised qualification
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and practices relevant to Malaysian financial reporting requirements
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Demonstrated leadership qualities and experience in training and developing junior team members
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across different departments
• A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to professional accounting standards and ethics
• Familiarity with financial close procedures, reconciliations, and month-end reporting processes
