Senior Additive Manufacturing Engineer

Senior Additive Manufacturing Engineer onsite in Long Beach, CA $130K–$165K (DOE)

Motive Workforce is looking for a Senior Additive Manufacturing Engineer to join an advanced manufacturing organization in Long Beach supporting aerospace, defense, and other highly technical applications.

This is a hands-on, onsite role focused on metal additive manufacturing—from process development and DfAM through production, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do:

• Develop and optimize metal AM processes , including DMLS/L-PBF
• Apply Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) principles
• Develop process plans, technical documentation, and customer requirements
• Troubleshoot AM equipment and production processes
• Support R&D, new applications, and process improvement initiatives
• Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and project teams
• Evaluate new AM technologies, materials, and manufacturing methods
• Support AS9100 quality requirements

What We’re Looking For:

• B.S. in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
• 3–6 years of metal additive manufacturing experience
• Hands-on experience with DMLS, L-PBF, or similar metal AM technology
• CAD and engineering drawing experience
• Working knowledge of GD&T, metallurgy, and thermal-mechanical behavior
• Experience troubleshooting or optimizing manufacturing processes
• Aerospace/defense experience is a plus
• Experience with CNC, heat treatment, NDT, surface treatment, or assembly is a plus
• Must be a U.S. Person under ITAR and eligible to obtain a DoD security clearance
