What they need

LIC is a farmer-owned co-operative that’s been supporting herd improvement in New Zealand’s dairy sector for more than 115 years. We’re focused on providing superior genetics, reliable testing and diagnostics, integrated on-farm software, and great customer service, all designed to help farmers make smarter decisions every day.

As a proud generational co-operative, we’re here for farmers, their families, and rural communities, not just for today, but for the future. And none of it happens without our people. Whether on farm, in the lab, or behind the scenes, every one of us plays a part in helping New Zealand farmers succeed.

Your Role:

As part of the NZ Markets Group, you'll report to a Territory Manager and play a key role in connecting LIC with our customers.

NZ Markets is LIC's sales and marketing function and the voice of our customers. The team brings together Territory Management, Farm Solutions Management, Customer Support, Sales Operations, Market Analysis, Reproduction Solutions, Key Accounts, Communications, Marketing, Sales Learning & Development, Herd Improvement Product Groups, and the Livestock Selection Breeding Scheme.

As a Senior Agri Manager, you'll be a trusted advisor to farmers, a coach to your team, and a key contributor to LIC's commercial success. You'll use your industry knowledge, leadership capability, and relationship-building skills to help customers get the most value from LIC's products and services, while ensuring customer insights help shape future solutions.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll balance people leadership, customer engagement, and commercial outcomes to deliver results for both LIC and New Zealand dairy farmers.

Your Key Focus:

  • Lead, coach, and support Agri Managers and/or Agri Relationship Managers within your territory, helping them achieve strong customer and commercial outcomes.
  • Set, monitor, and deliver against sales, customer engagement, and performance targets across your team.
  • Partner with your Territory Manager to coach fellow Agri Managers, share expertise, and act as a subject matter expert within the wider team.
  • Drive the successful delivery of LIC's solutions and services, ensuring customers receive practical, value-driven recommendations that support their farming goals.
  • Build strong relationships with existing customers while identifying and developing opportunities with new customers across your territory.
  • Champion LIC's solution-selling approach, helping customers understand how LIC's products and services can support improved farm performance and profitability.
  • Support and contribute to sales innovation initiatives and wider business programmes that strengthen customer value and commercial performance.
  • Work collaboratively across LIC to ensure the voice of the customer is understood and reflected in business decisions.

Your Key Skills & Experience:

  • A proven track record of achieving sales results through strong relationship management, customer engagement, and proactive outreach.
  • A solid understanding of LIC's products, services, and solution-selling approach.
  • Strong knowledge of the dairy industry and a genuine understanding of farmers' current and future business challenges.
  • Previous people leadership experience, with the ability to coach, develop, motivate, and support others to succeed.
  • Commercially astute, with strong business acumen, analytical thinking, and sound financial management skills.
  • Proven capability in leadership, influencing, negotiation, and adapting your communication style to suit different audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to make practical decisions and apply sound business principles.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification is advantageous.
  • Confident and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Well-developed planning, organisation, and time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and deliver results.

In Return:

In addition to a competitive salary, you'll receive some great benefits including:

  • Company vehicle
  • Sales incentive
  • Extra leave days
  • Flexible working options
  • Discounted health, life, income and disability insurances
  • Access to our employee shares scheme
  • Wellbeing discounts

This is a highly visible and pivotal role, where you'll have plenty of opportunity to achieve great results. You'll be joining a values-led, progressive organisation, where you'll play a role in driving the future of dairy in NZ.
