Senior AI Engineer

Sci-Rec is partnering with a fast-growing behavioural health AI company to hire a Senior AI Engineer. This is a confidential search.

The company

Founded by experienced healthcare technology entrepreneurs, our client is building an AI suite that is changing how behavioural health providers care for patients. Their products include an AI contact centre handling inbound patient calls around the clock, AI companions that proactively reach out to patients at moments of clinical risk, and tools that remove administrative burden from clinicians.

They’re a team of around 35 to 40, with 8 to 10 engineers. The structure is flat, engineers own their work end to end, and the company is self-funded, giving it the freedom to build for the long term.

The role

This is a hands-on engineering role. You’ll design and build production agentic AI systems, writing code day to day while also shaping architecture and technical direction. You’ll take on some of the hardest problems in the product and be expected to move quickly from idea to working feature.

What they’re looking for

• A strong academic background in computer science, mathematics, physics or a related field from a leading university
• Experience building complex AI systems in production, ideally at a frontier or high-growth AI company
• Hands-on experience with agentic AI orchestration, with LangGraph strongly preferred
• A track record of shipping quickly and owning hard problems through to delivery
• Something concrete you’ve personally built that you’d be comfortable walking through
• Comfort with ambiguity and the ownership mindset that comes with a small, senior team

Healthcare and voice AI experience are welcome but not required.
