Senior AI Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior AI Engineer with strong experience in AI/ML engineering, production software development and deployment, ideally within supply chain or retail environments.

In this role, you will build scalable, modular and production-ready AI solutions to address complex supply chain challenges. You will also contribute to system architecture, engineering best practices and technical mentorship within a high-impact engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop modular, portable and production-ready software deployable across major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and on-premise environments.

Re-architect existing systems to translate complex business and retail requirements into scalable, reusable software components.

Build AI-driven systems that integrate machine learning models into reliable, scalable business applications.

Design and implement software architecture, microservices and APIs to support system scalability and maintainability.

Establish and improve engineering practices, including coding standards, CI/CD, DevOps and MLOps workflows.

Conduct code reviews, provide technical guidance to team members and promote engineering excellence.

Ensure software meets security, performance, reliability and maintainability standards.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Operations Research or a related field.

At least 4 years of experience in AI/ML engineering or software engineering, with a focus on building and deploying production systems.

Proficiency in Python and experience with SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB).

Hands-on experience deploying infrastructure as code on at least one major cloud platform.

Experience deploying applications in cloud and on-premise environments using Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.

Strong understanding of microservices architecture, API development and system design.

Familiarity with automated testing frameworks such as PyTest and tools for unit and integration testing.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience deploying AI/ML models into production environments.

Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow, Prefect or Ray.

Experience with reporting and analytics tools such as Tableau or Holistics.

Experience in supply chain AI applications, including inventory optimisation, demand forecasting or retail analytics.
