Senior AI/Full Stack Engineer | McLean, VA

This role is only open to candidates with US citizenship or a green card. We are seeking an experienced software engineer to build modern data migration, streaming, and reconciliation solutions using AI/ML and event-driven architectures. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in Java or Python, Kafka, backend services, distributed systems, and cloud technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement modern data-transfer and migration solutions that efficiently and seamlessly load data into contemporary OLTP systems.
• Leverage AI/ML technologies to accelerate data migration, automate data reconciliation, identify inconsistencies, and enable smooth transitions for users and applications.
• Design and develop scalable backend services, APIs, and event-driven solutions to support high-volume data movement and processing.
• Build and maintain reliable data-streaming and integration solutions using technologies such as Apache Kafka.
• Collaborate closely with architecture, security, networking, platform, and application teams to develop effective solutions and ensure successful delivery.
• Contribute to system architecture, technical design, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
• Develop solutions that support real-time analytics, distributed processing, observability, and resilient event-driven architectures.
• Apply modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD, containerization, monitoring, and automated deployment, to improve development and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of hands-on experience in software or application development.
• 8+ years of hands-on development experience with Java, Python, or comparable modern programming languages and frameworks.
• 3+ years of experience developing backend services, including the design and implementation of RESTful APIs.
• Demonstrated experience integrating AI/ML solutions into data pipelines, complex data migrations, reconciliation processes, or related workflows.
• Strong hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, including installation, configuration, administration, and application development.
• Strong understanding of data streaming, event-driven architecture, distributed systems, and real-time data processing.
• Hands-on experience with APIs, microservices, event streaming, databases (SQL and NoSQL), logging and monitoring, containers, serverless technologies, and DevOps practices.
• Experience with CI/CD platforms and modern software delivery practices.
• Experience with AWS or other major cloud platforms is preferred.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
• Background in real-time analytics and event-driven architectures is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience; advanced degree or graduate-level studies preferred.
