Senior AML Data Scientist

We are looking for a Senior AML Data Scientist to join our team and help us take our Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and financial crime prevention capabilities to the next level.

In this role, you will use data science, advanced analytics and machine learning to identify suspicious patterns, improve transaction monitoring and customer risk assessment, and make our financial crime detection processes smarter and more effective.

Every day, you’ll be #closer and:

• Develop and improve data science and machine learning solutions for AML and financial crime detection.
• Analyse large volumes of customer and transaction data to identify suspicious behaviour, patterns and anomalies.
• Work on reducing false positives while maintaining strong detection of potentially suspicious activity.
• Explore customer and transaction networks to identify relationships and patterns that may not be visible through traditional rules-based monitoring.
• Design experiments, evaluate hypotheses and measure the performance of analytical and ML solutions.
• Select appropriate statistical and machine-learning methods and continuously improve model performance.
• Work with data engineers to define data requirements and ensure the quality, consistency and availability of data.
• Translate complex analytical findings into clear recommendations for AML and business stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development of model monitoring, validation and documentation practices.

To be #closer, you’ll need:

• Solid professional experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, Advanced Analytics or a related field.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python and data science libraries such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn or similar.
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with large and complex datasets.
• Strong understanding of statistics, probability and machine-learning techniques.
• Proven experience developing, evaluating and improving predictive or analytical models.
• Experience working with imbalanced datasets, anomaly detection or classification problems.
• Ability to independently take ownership of a data science problem — from understanding the business needs and exploring the data to developing and evaluating a solution.
