Senior Analyst - Memory semiconductors

Now, we are seeking a dynamic senior analyst specializing in the storage market to join our semiconductor research efforts. Direct work experience in the NAND flash or storage industry is required; an engineering background is a plus.

This is a global senior level Analyst role where you will be developing and contributing original insights on how the semiconductor technologies are evolving and exposure to key technology companies across the value chain. This should help you develop knowledge, profile, and grasp of what it means to be a star analyst.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain NAND flash and storage market database and forecast models, including both supply and demand, with a particular focus on memory semiconductors, especially NAND flash memory and mid- to long-term storage demand dynamics.
• Track and analyze NAND flash supply-demand balance and pricing trends and assess their implications for the storage market.
• Conduct regular supply chain checks across the NAND flash and storage value chain to validate market data, forecasts and pricing views.
• Collaborate with team members on semiconductor supply chain research initiatives including fab equipment, packaging, IP, and chip analysis.
• Deliver and present storage market research to existing clients and expand the service to new prospects.
• Help build and maintain the semiconductor tracker and forecast deliverables by researching, interpreting, and recording relevant information in proprietary databases.
• Contribute analysis creating a rich body of qualitative and quantitative research insights across different projects and deliverables to build synergies.
• Manage databases to ensure timely completion and quality checks at various stages.
• Express your industry viewpoint through blogging and sharing weekly industry insights within the team.

Requisite Skills & Experience:

• We prefer 5-10 years of experience in semiconductor-related industry, with at least part of it in memory or storage (NAND, SSD, or module/controller); adjacent experience in fab equipment, foundry/IDM, IC design, or semiconductor-related services is also relevant.
• A strong background in the storage industry is required; hands-on NAND flash experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical skills, with experience in market research, data analysis, and forecasting, preferably within the semiconductor industry.
• Ability to analyze semiconductor market trends, supply and demand dynamics, and industry developments to generate actionable insights.
• Highly interested in and possess knowledge of semiconductor technologies, storage components (NAND, SSD controllers, modules, etc.) and the end markets they serve, including smartphones, PCs, servers, and data center infrastructure.
• The candidate needs to be knowledgeable in both operation and marketing through various roles in the industry.
• Understanding of the NAND and storage supply chain, from wafer fab and packaging through module, SSD and channel, and of the demand-side sectors it serves.
• We also consider a candidate from the financial or market consultancy industry with strong knowledge and connections in semiconductor supply chain.
• Demonstrating the experiences of market intelligence works will be a bonus.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A graduate/post-graduate degree (bachelor’s or master’s); an engineering degree is a plus
• 5+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in semiconductor industry in a research, product management or technical marketing role.

Preferred Qualifications:

• The ability to analyze and synthesize the available data and bring out value-added insights.
• High-level of analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication skills both verbally and in written form.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
• Ability to work confidently as an individual contributor as well as being comfortable as a team player.

Location: Republic of Korea or Japan

• This is a full-time position.
