About the role

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Anode Engineer working in Blenheim, New Zealand to lead the day-to-day execution of our anode development programmes. Reporting to the Head of Product Development, you will drive experimental planning, DOE, testing, qualification and technical recommendations for graphite-based anode materials in battery applications.

What you'll do:

1. Lead anode development programmes from experimental planning to technical delivery.
2. Design and execute DOEs; analyse data, troubleshoot issues and provide recommendations.
3. Prepare technical reports, presentations and progress updates.
4. Support qualification activities and technical meetings with internal teams and external partners.
5. Coordinate experimental work, technicians, junior engineers, suppliers and testing providers.
6. Identify technical risks, resource needs and continuous improvement opportunities.

What you'll bring:

1. Bachelor’s Degree and above in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrochemistry or related field.
2. At least 3 to 5 years of strong experience with graphite anode materials: development, characterization, processing and performance evaluation.
3. Proven ability to design and execute structured experimental programmes and DOE.
4. Strong analytical, troubleshooting and independent project management skills.
5. Excellent technical communication and reporting ability.
6. Desirable: battery/carbon materials, qualification programmes, scale-up/pilot/manufacturing, mentoring and external partner experience.
7. Execution-oriented, technically independent, analytical, hands-on, structured, collaborative and proactive.
