Senior Application Software Engineer

Our client is a well-established New Zealand manufacturer investing heavily in digital transformation and modernising its internal business systems.
They're looking for a Senior Application Software Engineer who enjoys solving business problems through a combination of modern software engineering, Azure technologies and Nodejs.
This isn't a pure Software Engineer role, and it isn't a pure Power Platform role either. We're looking for someone who can confidently work across both, knowing when a bespoke application is the right solution and when low-code tools will deliver the best outcome.

About the Role
Reporting to the Application & Data Architect, you'll play a key role in designing, developing and supporting business-critical applications used across the organisation.

You'll work closely with stakeholders ranging from senior leadership through to operational teams, delivering new applications, system integrations and workflow automation that genuinely improve the way the business operates.
Projects include:

• Developing and enhancing internal web applications
• Building REST API integrations between enterprise systems
• Supporting Azure-hosted applications and services
• Developing workflow automation using Microsoft technologies
• Maintaining and improving production applications
• Working across ERP, CRM, Dynamics 365 and other business systems
• Supporting ongoing digital transformation initiatives

What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone with strong commercial experience across most of the following:

• Node.js, React and TypeScript
• SQL and REST API development
• Azure application services
• Systems integration
• Production application support
• CI/CD and modern development practices

Experience with any of the following would be highly regarded:

• Power Platform (Power Apps / Power Automate)
• Dynamics 365
• GraphQL
• SharePoint
• Azure AI services
• Manufacturing environments

About You
You'll enjoy working closely with the business, gathering requirements and turning ideas into practical technical solutions.
You'll be someone who:

• Is collaborative and enjoys working with stakeholders
• Can work independently and take ownership
• Has excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Is comfortable moving between solution design and hands-on development
• Takes a pragmatic approach to technology and delivery

What's on Offer

• Comprehensive health insurance
• Flexible working hours
• On-site parking and cafeteria
• Ongoing professional development
• A supportive, collaborative team
• The opportunity to play a key role in a large-scale digital transformation programme

If you're a software engineer who enjoys working across application development, integrations, Azure and Microsoft's business application ecosystem, we'd love to hear from you.

Only people with the right to live and work in New Zealand may apply for this role. For this position, you must be available for an interview in Auckland.
