Senior Architectural Technician

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Architectural Technician to join our team, working on a range of industrial and commercial projects. Please note this is a senior-level role requiring proven industry experience.

Essential Requirements:

• Minimum 5–7 years post-qualification experience in an architectural technician role, ideally within industrial and/or commercial sectors.
• Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations, planning processes, and construction detailing.
• Proven ability to manage projects from concept through to completion with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Comfortable working independently and taking a lead role in technical design, coordination, and site stages.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed technical drawings and construction documents using AutoCAD software.
• Collaborate with consultants and design teams to develop design concepts into workable solutions.
• Ensure all designs comply with Building Regulations, planning requirements, and relevant standards.
• Liaise with contractors, consultants and clients to resolve technical issues during the construction phase.
• Conduct site visits to review construction progress and resolve any on-site technical issues.
• Undertake site meetings and act as contact administrator.
• Prepare accurate schedules, reports, and specifications as required.

Key Skills and Attributes

• Proven experience as an Architectural Technician, with a strong portfolio showcasing your technical expertise.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD software.
• In-depth knowledge of Building Regulations, construction methods and materials.
• Ability to produce high-quality technical drawings and construction details.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with clients, consultants, and contractors.
• Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications and Experience

• A relevant qualification in Architectural Technology (e.g. HNC / HND, degree or equivalent)
• Chartered Membership with CIAT (or working towards chartership) is highly desirable.
• A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in an architectural or construction-related role.
• Experience in leading projects from technical design through to completion on site is essential.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £40,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
