Senior Associate

About the role

Lex Bangkok is seeking a Senior Associate to join our Corporate & Commercial practice. You will manage a broad range of commercial and regulatory matters for a diverse, largely international client base, working fluidly across Thai and English. This is a full-time role with real ownership from drafting and negotiating agreements to steering licensing and compliance files through to completion and a clear path to grow within a boutique international firm.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and legal documentation across the full range of clients' commercial activities.
• Manage litigation support preparing pleadings, handling legal notices, and assisting with dispute resolution, fraud matters, and both internal and external investigations.
• Advise clients, including corporate groups and their subsidiaries, on both day-to-day and strategic matters.
• Monitor regulatory developments and keep clients' operations aligned with applicable laws.
• Oversee corporate secretarial work, including filings with government registries, the shareholders' register, and issuance of share certificates.
• Act as the point of contact with clients and regulators on FDA, BOI, and factory licensing, seeing each file through to completion.
• Handle licensing applications for new ventures from preparation through to approval.
• Track contractual deadlines and key dates through a well-maintained docket system.
• Support the rollout of the firm's compliance framework.
• Take on additional assignments as they arise, including occasional travel to provincial areas.

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years of experience at a law firm and/or in-house.
• Current Thai Lawyer's License.
• Strong written and spoken English — used daily and essential to the role; Thai proficiency required.
• Familiarity with FDA, BOI, and factory licensing, with the confidence to coordinate directly with clients and authorities.
• Sound judgment, sharp analytical and problem-solving instincts, and the ability to juggle multiple matters under pressure without compromising quality.
• Approachable, service-minded, and a strong team player.
• Comfortable with upcountry travel when needed.
