Baker McKenzie's Dispute Resolution & Restructuring & Insolvency group is one of the Australian office's largest practice groups. It has the depth of experience and accomplishment to advise and represent clients in all matters associated with complex commercial disputes, class actions, and restructuring & insolvency.

Our commercially pragmatic approach means we focus on the issues that matter to clients rather than simply managing the litigation process to a conclusion. We always take a strategic approach to disputes, identifying and guiding the client's legal team on all available options to promote early resolution but never losing sight of the need to resolutely promote our clients' best interests.

About you

We are looking for senior lawyers with 5 - 8 years’ PQE gained at a top-tier or leading international law firm. You will have strong experience across a broad range of commercial disputes, with restructuring and insolvency experience viewed favourably but not essential.

 

As a Senior Associate in our Dispute Resolution team, you will play an important leadership role across complex disputes. Working closely with partners and clients, you will lead significant aspects of matters, drive strategy and case management, mentor junior lawyers, and contribute to the growth of our client relationships and practice.

 

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

• an excellent academic record and a strong track record advising on complex commercial disputes, together with exposure to insolvency and restructuring matters where applicable;
• the ability to build trusted, long-term client relationships and deliver commercially focused, strategic advice;
• demonstrated experience supervising, mentoring and developing junior lawyers;
• a proactive approach to business development and a genuine interest in building your professional profile and network; and
• strong matter and project management skills, with the ability to balance legal risk, commercial objectives and client service excellence.
