Senior Audit Manager

The SME Mall is recruiting on behalf of a well-established firm of Chartered Accountants based in Ilupeju, Lagos. Our client is looking for a seasoned Senior Audit Manager to oversee the audit portfolio, drive quality across engagements, and work closely with the partners on firm growth.

What you’ll do

• Oversee a portfolio of statutory, special-purpose and assurance engagements from planning to sign-off
• Lead and develop a team of Audit Managers, Seniors and associates
• Perform senior-level reviews of audit files, financial statements and reports before partner sign-off
• Ensure all engagements meet ISA, IFRS and FRC Nigeria standards and internal quality control policies
• Manage key client relationships and handle complex technical and accounting issues
• Support the partners with business development, proposals and client retention
• Drive engagement profitability through budgeting, resourcing and billing oversight
• Contribute to firm-wide training, methodology and quality improvement

What you’ll bring

• ICAN and/or ACCA qualification (mandatory); additional qualifications such as CITN are an advantage
• B.Sc./HND in Accounting or a related field
• 10+ years of audit experience, with at least 4 years at manager level
• Deep expertise in IFRS, ISAs and the Nigerian tax and regulatory landscape
• Proven experience managing multiple engagements and teams at the same time
• Exposure to regulated sectors such as financial services, oil and gas, or public sector entities (an advantage)
• Strong commercial awareness and client-facing presence
• Excellent leadership, technical writing and stakeholder management skills
