The Sr. Auditor serves as a trusted business partner to management, helping the organization achieve its objectives through risk-based auditing, internal control evaluation, and process improvement. This role provides independent assurance on the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and internal controls while identifying opportunities to strengthen operations, safeguard resources, ensure compliance, and enhance organizational performance. The Auditor also supports fraud risk assessments, investigates control weaknesses, and provides practical recommendations that promote accountability, transparency, and informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Lead audit of overseas (approximately 50%-60% of time) and domestic operations (approximately 15%) within established timeframe.
1.      Lead comprehensive audits of internal controls, financial operations, compliance, technology and risk management processes.

2.      Identify areas for audit process improvement, propose audit automation strategies, and lead implementation of solutions to reduce manual effort and enhance audit effectiveness.

3.      Automate routine audit procedures using advanced tools and software.

Perform administrative tasks and coordinate work with team members, as needed, pertaining to audit engagement.

1.      Perform audit administration and logistics, as needed.

2.      Keep Audit Manager informed about progress of work and important issues arising in a timely manner.

Build and manage relationships within and outside the department

1.      Provide feedback on team members' performance.

2.      Coordinate work assignments after fieldwork and/or outside of audit engagements with Audit Manager.

3.      Help create positive work environment and foster camaraderie within the team.

Continuously update knowledge and skills relevant to performing the audit functions.

1.      Use various means to conduct internal and external research to better understand areas to be audited and to identify risks and opportunities, industry trends, and benchmarks.

2.      Keep current on significant developments within CARE concerning all departments in HQ and country offices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in external auditing
• At least 5 years of experience in internal auditing
• At least 3 years of experience in leading audit engagements
• Willing to travel up to 60% to developing countries
• Strong understanding of Internal Control Frameworks, risk-based auditing and financial and operational auditing
• Familiarity with financial reporting standards and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present audit findings and recommendations clearly.
