What they need
About the Opportunity
We are an established accountancy practice expanding our services with the introduction of a new audit branch. We are seeking an experienced and suitably qualified audit professional to join us in a senior role, overseeing and delivering high-quality audit work.
This is an opportunity to join an established firm at an exciting stage of its development, working within its new audit service while benefiting from the support and infrastructure of the wider practice.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing audit assignments, maintaining professional standards and ensuring compliance with relevant auditing and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with the firm's existing team and provide a reliable, professional service to our audit clients.
The position is offered on a part-time basis, with flexible working arrangements to suit the successful candidate. It may particularly appeal to an experienced auditor seeking a senior role with autonomy and responsibility, alongside a more flexible working pattern.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage audit assignments from planning through to completion and reporting.
- Carry out and oversee external audit work in accordance with applicable auditing standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure audit files, working papers and supporting documentation are completed to the required professional standard.
- Maintain compliance with relevant ethical, independence and quality management requirements.
- Manage day-to-day audit client relationships and respond to client queries professionally.
- Review audit work, identify issues and ensure appropriate conclusions and recommendations are documented.
- Ensure audit engagements are completed accurately, efficiently and within agreed deadlines.
- Liaise with the firm's wider team on audit assignments and related accountancy matters.
- Keep up to date with changes to auditing standards, legislation and professional requirements.
About You
We are looking for a technically strong and experienced audit professional who can confidently manage audit assignments and deliver work to a high standard.
You will ideally have:
- A recognised professional accountancy qualification, such as ACCA or an equivalent qualification.
- An audit practising certificate, or the relevant experience and eligibility to obtain one.
- Significant experience in external audit, preferably within an accountancy practice.
- Experience managing audit assignments from planning through to completion.
- The ability to prepare, review and maintain high-quality audit documentation.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Good communication skills and a professional approach to client relationships.
What We Offer
- £75,000 per annum for a part-time position.
- Flexible working arrangements, with the working pattern agreed with the successful candidate.
- The opportunity to join a new audit branch within an established accountancy practice.
- The support and infrastructure of an established firm.
- A senior position with responsibility for managing audit assignments and maintaining professional standards.
- A flexible working environment that values experience, technical ability and professional independence.
Why Join Us?
This is an opportunity to join an established accountancy practice as it introduces a new audit branch, offering the chance to take on a senior audit role within a supportive and professional environment.
The focus of the position is on delivering high-quality audit work, managing client assignments and maintaining the technical and regulatory standards expected of a professional accountancy practice.
For an experienced auditor seeking a senior position with flexibility and responsibility, this offers an attractive alternative to a traditional full-time role.
If you have the relevant qualifications and audit experience, we would welcome a conversation.
