Audit Senior — Public Accounting

Location: Tampa, FL | Hybrid

Salary: $80,000–$95,000 plus annual bonus

A well-established public accounting practice is looking for an Audit Senior to help deliver audit engagements across a varied client portfolio. This role would suit an auditor who enjoys taking ownership of assignments, supporting colleagues and developing strong client relationships.

You’ll work closely with senior leadership in an environment that supports professional development and a sustainable balance between work and personal commitments.

The role

• Coordinate audit assignments, managing workloads and deadlines across several engagements.
• Guide junior auditors, delegate tasks and review completed work.
• Assess financial reporting risks and evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls.
• Resolve technical issues and ensure audit documentation meets professional standards.
• Prepare findings and reports for review by firm leadership.
• Discuss recommendations with clients to strengthen processes and address identified weaknesses.

Your background

• At least two years’ experience within public accounting, with a strong grounding in audit.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and progress toward CPA qualification; an active CPA license would be advantageous.
• Confidence reviewing work, supporting junior colleagues and managing competing deadlines.
• Clear communication skills and sound professional judgment.
• Experience auditing clients across different sectors would be beneficial.
• Familiarity with audit and tax software is helpful.
