Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior AV & Network Systems Engineer to design, specify, implement, and support advanced IT and audiovisual technology solutions for commercial clients.

This role requires a unique blend of networking expertise, audiovisual system knowledge, client consulting skills, and hands-on field installation experience. The successful candidate will work directly with prospective and existing clients to assess requirements, develop technology solutions, create proposals, install systems, and provide ongoing support.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable in a boardroom discussing solutions with executives and in an IDF troubleshooting a switch, configuring VLANs, commissioning wireless access points, or bringing a conference room online.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Design & Consulting

• Meet with prospective and existing customers to understand business and technology requirements.
• Conduct site surveys and technology assessments.
• Design wired and wireless networking solutions.
• Develop audiovisual and collaboration technology solutions.
• Create scopes of work, bills of material, system diagrams, and project documentation.
• Assist with sales engineering activities, proposals, and technology demonstrations.

Networking

• Design, deploy, and support:
• Extreme Networks switching environments
• Extreme wireless solutions
• Network segmentation and VLAN architecture
• Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking
• DHCP, DNS, routing, and network services
• Network security best practices
• Configure and troubleshoot:
• Switches
• Wireless access points
• Firewalls
• Structured cabling infrastructure
• Perform network documentation and diagramming.

Audiovisual Systems

• Install, configure, and commission:
• Crestron control systems
• Crestron NVX AV-over-IP platforms
• AirMedia presentation systems
• Conference room solutions
• Digital signage systems
• Audio DSP and amplification systems
• Video conferencing technologies
• Perform system testing, commissioning, and client training.
• Troubleshoot and resolve AV system issues.

Field Services

• Install technology systems at customer locations.
• Coordinate project implementation activities.
• Lead commissioning and go-live processes.
• Provide onsite and remote technical support.
• Participate in after-hours maintenance windows when required.

Documentation

• Network diagrams
• Rack elevations
• Cable schedules
• IP addressing plans
• As-built documentation
• Client handoff documentation
• Maintain project records and service documentation.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in IT networking, AV integration, or related technology fields.
• Strong understanding of:
• TCP/IP networking
• VLANs
• Routing and switching
• Wireless networking
• Structured cabling systems
• Experience installing and supporting commercial AV solutions.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and construction documents.
• Excellent customer-facing communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer locations.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders and work above ceiling spaces.
• Ability to work in equipment rooms, telecommunications closets, and construction environments.
• Ability to travel to customer sites throughout the region.
