Senior AV Event Technician (Project Lead)

About the Role

At Edwards Sound, our Senior Technician (Project Lead) is a critical bridge between customer ambition and technical reality. You aren't just taking handovers, you are a technical resource who partners directly with our Account Management team right from the start. You’ll listen to client requirements, translate needs into designs, and own the solution end-to-end. From initial system spec to final sign-off, you bring the technical depth required to ensure no detail slips through the cracks. On larger jobs, you step up as the lead on-site, directing crew and driving flawless execution.

Key Responsibilities & Scope

• Hands-on Show Teching & Operation: Get behind the desk. Mix live audio, programme stage lighting, run signal control, and ensure technical perfection during shows and events.
• Solution Design & Client Engagement: Collaborate with Account Managers early in the cycle to understand client goals, evaluate site constraints, and design tailored audio, lighting, and visual configurations.
• Technical Depth & Authority: Serve as a subject matter expert across our equipment range and act as a mentor for junior technicians.
• On-Site Crew Leadership: Lead, direct, and mentor crews, taking ultimate responsibility for load-in, run-of-show, and load-out.

What You Bring

• Proven AV Project Management Experience: Demonstrated track record taking live events from initial brief through to execution.
• Broad & Deep Technical Skillset: Hands-on expertise in live sound and stage lighting, paired with a solid grasp of AV control systems.
• Client-Facing Professionalism: Ability to sit down with clients alongside Account Managers, explain complex solutions clearly, and instill complete confidence.
• Leadership Drive: A proactive, self-motivated mindset with the calm composure needed to lead teams and solve problems under live event pressure.
