Senior AV Fleet Technician

Akkodis is seeking an AV Fleet Technician II for a 12+ months Contract with possible extension position with a client located in Sunnyvale, CA .

Pay Range: $32/hr. - $42/hr. On W2 (The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)

Summary:

The AV Fleet Technician II handles documented hardware, connectivity, and software issues that require more troubleshooting than routine checks. This contractor takes escalations from Technician I, follows approved diagnostic steps, and returns vehicles to service when a documented resolution or guided escalation applies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot known sensor, harness, connector, network, and system faults using approved guides.
• Perform authorized component replacements and post-service checks.
• Retrieve logs, check system status, run approved diagnostic scripts, and complete documented software or firmware provisioning.
• Review assigned alerts and tickets; record findings, actions, and results.
• Guide Technician I through documented steps and escalate unresolved or undocumented issues to Technician III or Fleet Engineering.

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license.
• Linux/Autonomous Vehicle testing.
• 3+ years of hands-on hardware service, electronics troubleshooting, automotive electronics, or comparable work.
• Working knowledge of Linux commands for log retrieval, system status, and connectivity checks.
• Ability to interpret documented diagnostic results and follow technical SOPs accurately.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to AV/ADAS, robotics, sensors, vehicle networks, or automotive electronics.
• Experience with automotive Ethernet, FAKRA connectors, or harness service.

Scope and Escalation:

• Independently resolves known issues with documented fixes. Does not create new diagnostic procedures or pursue undocumented platform faults independently.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

• Entirely onsite at a local warehouse, depot, or garage. May lift up to 40 lbs, bend, and work around vehicles. Alternative shifts or weekend coverage may be required.
