Senior AWS Engineer with Databricks

Our KDN Bulgaria Cloud unit is focused on designing, building, securing, and managing cloud-native and hybrid platforms for the KPMG group of member firms, as well as providing cloud advisory and engineering services to external clients.

We are looking for a Senior AWS Engineer with Databricks experience to join our dynamic and growing Cloud practice. If you are passionate about cloud automation, platform engineering, DevOps excellence, and enabling modern data platforms at scale, we'd love to hear from you.

Job Description

• Design, build, and support enterprise-grade AWS cloud platforms and infrastructure services
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and AWS-native services
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and release management processes
• Build and manage secure, scalable, and highly available cloud environments
• Support Databricks platform deployments across AWS and contribute to platform modernization initiatives
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, monitoring, and operational processes
• Collaborate with cloud architects, data engineers, and application teams to deliver cloud-native solutions
• Implement observability, logging, monitoring, and alerting frameworks
• Drive security, governance, compliance, and cost optimization across AWS environments
• Support containerization and orchestration initiatives using Kubernetes and related technologies
• Participate in technical design discussions, project planning, and architectural reviews
• Mentor junior engineers and promote DevOps best practices across delivery teams
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, platform, and deployment issues

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience designing, implementing, and operating AWS cloud platforms
• Strong experience with AWS services
• Experience deploying and managing Databricks environments on AWS
• Strong knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code technologies such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools
• Proven experience building CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or similar platforms
• Experience with container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes (EKS preferred)
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, security architecture, identity and access management, and governance principles
• Experience implementing monitoring and observability solutions such as CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, or OpenTelemetry
• Good understanding of Databricks Lakehouse architecture, data engineering workflows, and Spark-based platforms
• Experience with scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Knowledge of platform reliability, disaster recovery, backup strategies, and operational excellence practices
• Experience working in Agile environments and distributed international teams
• AWS certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer Professional, or Security Specialty are highly desirable
• Databricks certifications are considered a strong advantage
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Fluent English
