Senior AWS Platform Engineer

Your new company
Join our client within their technology environment, supporting a significant programme of cloud and platform transformation. You’ll work alongside architects, engineering teams, delivery leads and technology stakeholders.

Your new role
As a Senior Platform Engineer, you’ll provide hands-on engineering capability across AWS, infrastructure and platform services. A key focus will be migrating workloads into the AWS New Zealand Region while ensuring platforms remain secure, reliable and operationally supportable.

Responsibilities

• Build and migrate workloads into the AWS New Zealand Region
• Deliver cloud and infrastructure solutions from approved architecture designs
• Implement networking, connectivity, security and platform components
• Support workload cutovers, testing, validation and production releases
• Develop Infrastructure as Code and automation solutions
• Build platform services and environments for technology initiatives
• Troubleshoot cloud, infrastructure and connectivity issues
• Respond to operational incidents and platform support requirements
• Produce implementation documentation, support procedures and handover artefacts
• Work closely with Solution Architects, Cloud and Network Engineers, Product Owners and Delivery Leads
• Contribute to platform standardisation, reliability and continuous improvement

Requirements

• Strong hands-on AWS engineering experience
• Proven enterprise infrastructure and platform engineering experience
• Experience delivering cloud migrations and platform transformation
• Strong Terraform and Infrastructure as Code capability
• Strong networking knowledge across routing, DNS, firewalls, VPN and hybrid connectivity
• Experience supporting production platforms and critical business services
• Strong troubleshooting and incident management capability
• Ability to balance project delivery with operational priorities
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
