Senior Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Manufacturing & Automotive space.

This role will focus on designing and supporting secure virtual desktop solutions that enable reliable end-user access across an enterprise environment. The engineer will own host pool architecture, application delivery, and profile management while helping guide a transition away from a legacy desktop platform. Success in this position will require close collaboration with infrastructure, security, and operational stakeholders to improve performance, stability, and user experience.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $121,000 – $182,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Engineer Azure Virtual Desktop host pools and application delivery
• Create secure desktop patterns including network segmentation and firewall rules
• Implement FSLogix and profile storage solutions for steady operations
• Plan and execute Citrix transition activities and user acceptance testing
• Troubleshoot performance and sign-in issues across AVD environments
• Develop operational runbooks and knowledge transfer documentation

Qualifications

• 7+ years in endpoint, virtual desktop, or Windows infrastructure engineering
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing Azure Virtual Desktop solutions
• Proficient in FSLogix, Windows 11, Entra ID, Intune, and Azure networking
• Knowledgeable in image engineering, application packaging, and performance tuning
• Ability to work independently in secure enterprise environments
