Job Summary

As a Senior Backend Engineer , you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining the backend services that power our mobile and web applications. Your contributions will directly impact product functionality, scalability, and overall user experience.

We seek individuals with a strong product mindset, capable of thinking beyond just code and understanding how backend services contribute to the broader business and user goals.

This will be a 1-year contract role, with a possibility for renewal.

Responsibilities

• Design and build production systems in Go.
• Build and enhance systems to support new product features and business needs.
• Ensure the system is maintainable, efficient, and aligned with best practices.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive product improvements and innovation.
• Monitor and improve system performance, ensuring reliability and security best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to a culture of technical excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, with 5+ years of professional experience.
• Strong computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, design patterns, networking).
• Experience building and operating production software systems.
• Expertise in Go, with hands-on experience building maintainable and scalable backend systems.
• Familiarity with MySQL, DuckDB, and AWS. Other relevant tech stacks can be considered.
• Hands-on experience building systems around LLMs and agentic workflows.
• Experience working with AWS infrastructure.
• Solid understanding of web development and API design principles.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a product-driven approach to software development.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
• Understanding security best practices is a plus.
