About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Backend Developer to build and scale the backend behind our real-time audio/video products. You'll work primarily in Node.js, owning WebRTC-based communication features, APIs, and data layers, and you'll take responsibility for how your services behave in production.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services in Node.js, with PHP/Laravel used where our existing systems require it.
• Develop real-time features using Socket.IO/Web Sockets, including messaging, call signalling, event handling, reconnection logic, and data sync.
• Build WebRTC-based audio/video functionality on an SFU (such as mediasoup, Janus, LiveKit, or Jitsi), including session management and media quality monitoring.
• Design and integrate RESTful APIs, authentication, and third-party services.
• Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and indexing in MySQL/PostgreSQL, and use Redis for caching and real-time state.
• Own release readiness for your services: deploy to production, monitor behavior after release, and execute rollbacks when needed.
• Work with the DevOps team, who manage AWS infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, to keep deployments reliable.
• Review code, mentor junior developers, and contribute to architecture decisions.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of backend development experience, with strong Node.js expertise
• Hands-on WebRTC experience, plus experience with at least one SFU (mediasoup, Janus, LiveKit, Jitsi, or similar)
• Solid experience with WebSockets/Socket.IO in production
• Strong command of MySQL or PostgreSQL, and working knowledge of Redis
• Experience designing and securing REST APIs
• Working knowledge of AWS (EC2, S3, RDS or equivalent) and production deployments

Good to Have

• PHP/Laravel experience
• MongoDB
• Experience scaling real-time systems to large concurrent user loads
• Familiarity with Docker and CI/CD tooling

Pay: ₹600,000.00 - ₹700,000.00 per year
