Senior Backend Engineer

About the Role

• Design and build backend services powering fintech and SaaS products for healthcare customers
• Develop scalable APIs and database schemas for new product features
• Build and maintain Node.js applications with a focus on performance, reliability, and security
• Investigate and resolve production issues in partnership with Customer Support
• Estimate development effort and proactively communicate progress, risks, and blockers
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to deliver new functionality
• Contribute to architectural decisions and engineering best practices as the platform continues to scale
• Help shape a rapidly growing product roadmap while working in a high-performance, collaborative engineering culture

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional JavaScript development experience
• 5+ years developing backend applications with Node.js
• 2+ years working with Express.js or similar backend frameworks
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL and relational database design
• Solid understanding of backend architecture and scalable system design
• Experience building applications in the fintech, payments, banking, lending, or marketplace space strongly preferred
• Comfortable troubleshooting production issues and collaborating across technical and non-technical teams
• Self-starter who takes ownership, communicates effectively, and thrives in a fast-moving environment

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $160,000–$240,000, depending on experience and location
