We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join our growing technology startup. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems that power our products and services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain robust backend applications and APIs.
• Build scalable, secure, and high-performance systems.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions.
• Optimize application performance and troubleshoot system issues.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices.
• Implement security and data protection measures.
• Contribute to system architecture and technical decision-making.
• Mentor junior developers and support team growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in backend development.
• Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages such as Node.js, Python, Java, Go, or PHP.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Strong knowledge of databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Redis.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems (Git).
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a startup environment.
• Knowledge of system architecture, scalability, and performance optimization.
• Exposure to DevOps practices and infrastructure automation.
