Senior Backend Engineer - Product

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer - Product to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will support financial strategy, forecasting, and performance management initiatives that strengthen business visibility and decision-making. You will partner with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to improve planning processes, financial discipline, controls, and resource allocation. The position offers the opportunity to influence enterprise performance and scalable financial operations within a regulated financial services environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $166,600 – $208,300 annually

Responsibilities

• Take ownership and responsibility for product development
• Work autonomously in a close-knit team environment
• Collaborate with designers and product leaders to create user-friendly software
• Contribute to various product groups like Banking and Risk
• Engage in self-organized small/medium project initiatives
• Help innovate and elevate the fintech experience

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of backend development experience
• Proficient in SQL and willing to learn Haskell
• Strong user empathy for product development
• Experience in making architectural decisions and evaluating their impacts
• Familiarity with AI tools to enhance development processes
• Effective communicator and collaborator with cross-functional teams
